I have had a constant back pain since August and I decided I needed something more comfortable than just an air mattress for my camping trip in October. I wasnft sure if a cot was the answer but I had to try something. Well after trying it at the store and taking it camping I realized it was just what I needed for camping. It was not only comfortable (by camping standards) but I was able to get in and out of it more easily. It has ended up being a good solution for my back pain.

Setting it up
In comes in a compact form and it is relatively easy to set up. It will take you 1-4 minutes to set up the first time, after that it should take you less than 30 seconds. You unfold the main piece first. It just flips over twice and unfolds quite easily. Then pull it up so that the legs fold out in a X position, very much like some collapsible camping chairs. You then need to grab one of the two bars and slide it in the end. These bars are what keeps the cot from collapsing on you and it slides in very snugly. If you have a mattress then just lay that on top of the cot.

Comfort
I would give the comfort a 2.5/5 if I were comparing it to a standard bed. For comparison, I would rate my self-inflating mattresses at a 2/5. For a sleeping surface in the outdoors 2.5 is pretty good.
The cot essentially wraps a little around you forming a comfortable C that supports your body. Itfs not a cocoon but a gentle curve that is easy to get in and out of. I have had no problems or discomforts to date due to this design.

Problem with insulation.
The one problem you will notice is it is pretty cold under the cot on cold nights. Yes youfre off the ground but you lose any insulation the air mattress might have. The second night I used the cot I blew up my air mattress and put it on the cot. This kept me from being cold that second night by adding a layer of insulation below me. I also was fairly comfortable with the added air mattress.
I went camping a few weeks ago and it was mildly warm. So this was not an issue on that trip. If you only do summer camping that this probably wonft be an issue except at high elevations.

Cleaning
Nothing to really clean but if you do get dirt I suggest wiping it down with a damp sponge.

Durability
It seems good but with only owning it for 9 months I canft make a judgment call on its durability. But so far there are no loose threads, bent metal, or any other concerns. From inspecting it I am really pleased with the design and materials. My opinion of most Coleman gear is pretty low but this cot is an exception.

Summary
This is a cot designed for camping. It is stable, durable, and comfortable. It stores into a small rectangular bag for easy storage and is easy to set up. The only issue I have had is when it is cold I need to put an air mattress on top for added insulation. But other than that I have been very pleased with this purchase.
