snyper89's Full Review: Colin McRae Rally 3.0 for PlayStation 2
I've played a lot of Gran Turismo for the rally cars and nothing beats CM3. I can't say I've found a driving game as fun as this. Other than the annoying navigator and his constant talking to you, this game is great. You travel the world driving the most dangerous roads and the best part, finally decent car damage! Although most will say the navigator is "clueless" it's just like a real Rally race where you, the driver, not only has to drive, but compute what your navigator is reading off to you in order to set up correctly for the next turn. In this game there are a few options; free race, championship mode, and others. One drawback of this game is that in Championship Mode, since the game is called Colin McRae, of course, you can only drive as Colin McRae in his Ford Focus. This isn’t such a bad thing once you start playing because it is to realistic it’s simply amazing! The car damage is so realistic that after the race, whatever damage was done during the race actually follows through in the after game clips. The geometry and physics of the game are ok, but leave something to be desired.
