After receiving a few emails about what fragrances men are wearing during the spring, I thought I would take this opportunity to share my experience on a voguish cologne found. Trendsetters beware with Spring showers pouring it is important that men wear a fashionable scent that will smell good even after being drenched in the rain.
If you have visited Macy’s or one of your local upscale Department Store’s recently then I am sure you noticed all the fabulous fashionable spring items that’s hit the sales floor. With those sizzling trendy outfits you will definetly see Ralph Lauren Romance for Men. I’ve been familiar with Ralph Lauren’s products for years and I have a long history of wearing his designer clothes and popular colognes.
I was surprised when I received a 3.4 fl oz bottle of Ralph Lauren Romance Men Silver Eau de Toilette Spray for Easter from my lovely wife. I had only gone window-shopping with her the week prior reading the brief and spraying on a small sample on an odorless filtered piece of paper to evaluate the scent. Admittedly after my first sniff test I knew I liked this cologne.
The first scent impression of this cologne after the bottle has been sprayed and immediately after it has been applied to my skin is ginger, pistachio leaves, lavender, and mandarin peel. The ginger adds a warm pungently spicy feel with a flair of the orient while the lavender gives off a hint of fresh flowers. The hearts notes of greens, Indian basil, Kashmir saffron and wild tiger lily create a harmonious blend that help categorize this classy scent. The animal like note of musk is an excellent heady base note. Other dry down notes are pine, and patchouli, which are both excellent fixative providing the exotic note giving it almost an oriental blend. In its raw state, the patchouli leaf exudes an odor reminiscent of wet wood and rusty iron. In my opinion it’s this scent that gives this cologne its herbaceous, spicy, and woody-balsamic odor. This is a remarkable Eau de Toilette (80 or 90 proof alcohol to a concentration of 8 to 15 percent perfume oil) is packaged in a simple black box with eloquent crisp typeface. The substantivity of this cologne is good once applied to the skin. It retains its characteristic scent throughout the evening after a late afternoon application. Although this cologne is recommended for eveningwear I think it is great for the office since it fragrance last all day.
The spray bottle is simple and clear. The bottle is easy to use with a narrow spray tube and small diffuser that sprays the right amount with each pump. The design of the bottle reminds me of Chrome Azzaro. Ralph Lauren Romance has more of a rectangular shaped bottle, with a plain black top bearing the name of the fragrance. All comparisons are inadequate when it comes to what the bottle holds, as Ralph Lauren Romance is a cut above the rest. This cologne is far from simple; it is outgoing, confident, and yet sophisticated. Well-established gentleman will enjoy this subtle exotic masculine scent. This is a 5 star fragrance that will have them sniffing you all night long just make sure you burn unscented candles.
