Hey there (Reply to this comment)

I agree with Ed in that you wrote an excellent review. A bit heady in parts; I had to go back an re-read a couple of paragraphs in order to comprehend them fully.

Not only published by your state's university press, but about a clique of gay writers, this does seem your cup of tea. (I'm less sure about what they wrote and the kind of tea they drank...)

Dear Stephen,
It doesn't seem likely that you'll need to correct anything about this revision. Once or twice I thought I'd caught a typo ("juridically" for example) but the dictionary reinforces my impression that you've crafted another extensive critique that is as thought-provoking as it is thoughtful. Very nicely done.
There is a lot of fascinating material to consider in your review and, evidently, in the book as well. Thank you for the recommendation.
And judging from the tone of your response to the deleted comment, it sounds like your judgment there is beyond reproach as well.
Best wishes,
Peter

Besides correcting errors and expanding the discussion of Alfred Chester, I chose to delete and submit again in order to obliterate a comment on my earlier posting. Some of its tenor of misinformation can be inferred from my response:
AIDS is spread by HIV infection, and HIV infection is spread by unprotected sex (and shared needles and breast milk). As I have noted elsewhere in epinions, there is a "risk factor" of love: having unprotected intercourse out of misplaced trust. The number of sexual partners is relatively unimportant; the number in 1933 (or even 1964) completely unimportant.
