| ruiner's Full Review: Lexmark Jet 3200 InkJet Printer |
The Lexmark 3200 looks excellent, first looking at the $100 price tag, however, this inkjet printer is definitely not a "quality" printer or one that will last you. The quality of the printing is superb, but quality encompasses all aspects of a product. Its reliability, costs associated with owning and operating, and general ease of use. The Lexmark 3200 fails poorly on all of these categories, even considering the amount of money spent.
Possibly the biggest downfall to the printer is the costs to replace the cartridges. If you have to replace either the color or the black cartridge, plan on spending at least $35 for either cartridge. If they are not in use at least every few days, they will dry up very quickly on you, and you will no longer be able to print anything, so the costs associated with using this printer are very high.
The best thing about this printer is that it does print fairly quickly, and can print up to 1200x1200 dpi, much higher than others in its class. It does envelopes, 8 1/2 x 11 paper, and can also print near photo quality with the correct software and paper in place. Print quality is not the issue with the Lexmark, as it is excellent in this category.
Overall, this printer does a nice job of quality printing, at a reasonable speed as well. It does have major downfalls though, common occurrences included paper jamming, ink cartridges drying up fast, and general printer malfunction. If you're wanting to spend $100 for a printer, the Lexmark 3200 is definitely not the printer for you.
