The Lexmark 3200 is an inexpensive color ink jet printer that I picked up for about $90 after rebate. It uses 2 cartridges, 1 for black and 1 for color.
Installation
About as easy as it gets. Plug it in, pop in the install CD and away you go!
Performance
As described in documentation. Occasional noise from printer from God knows what. Few paper jams.
Quality
What you gain in price of the printer you'll need to feed this ink hungry machine. If you any type of color printing, say 25% color coverage then this is not for you. The ink cart can cost about $38 for color and $32 for black. I'm sure you can get better prices. At this rate you'll be in the poor house before too long :)
Quality is quite good on photographic paper producing near photo quality prints.
Overall
I've had this printer shared over a network for awhile now and does a good job. The hard part is keeping the kids from printing full color greeting cards!
