| abones4477's Full Review: Lexmark Jet 3200 InkJet Printer |
I recently sold my Lexmark Z11 printer (see my review), and was looking for an upgraded printer. I looked at the Epson's, Hp's, Umax and Lexmark. I even read quite a few epinions on the different printers I was looking at. In the end though I chose the Lexmark Z3200 printer.
This printer has an upgrade from the Z11 in that it holds both the black cartridge and a color cartridge. This saves quite a bit of money in continually buying the color cartridge when half the time you only use the black.
The print quality is 1200 x 1200, with a draft capability for quick print of 600 dpi. There is a settings button on the top where you put your paper to pick either one of two settings. One is for plain, coated and banner paper, the other setting is for glossy, greeting cards, envelopes, index cards, labels and transparencies. This button sets the media selector in the correct position for what you are printing. Although it only process's media at the rate of about 6 sheets per minute. The printer is also capable of printing photos with the addition of a photo cartridge.
If you purchase the refill cartridges at a store they are going to run you approximately $32.00 for a Color Cartridge and $29.00 for Black. The photo cartridge runs approximately $39.00. You can however buy a refill kit for your cartridges and cut this expense drastically.
When you begin to print there is a box that pops up called the Lexmark 3200 Series Control Program. In here there is a vast array of information and options from aligning your print cartridges and cleaning the jet sprayers to picking the type of paper you are printing and how many copies you may want.
The users guide that comes with the printer when purchased is an excellent source of information and well written even for a novice. It has excellent graphic illustrations to help you along the way. The installation cd for the printer is a snap and you can be up and printing in a matter of minutes.
The quality of the printed page, photos and transfers is remarkable. They are clear, concise and show very little pixels unless you get out a magnifying glass.
The printer also comes with two additional software cd's. American Greeting Cards special edition and print studio. Both are very welcomed editions to anyone that does alot of craft, photo or website design.
I found the price fit in my budget of under $200.00. I paid initially $149.00 for the printer and received a rebate of $50.00 within six weeks of sending in the forms.
Even though the printer is noisy, I would recommend this printer to anyone in the market for a printer under the $200.00 range.
