Pros: Urethane control with resin hitting power
Cons: can't find one
Columbia made a great rolling hard hitting urethane bowling bowl when the Ti Beast was released. The thought process behind the this Beast was to give the bowler predictable even rolling ball with the extra hitting power. Columbia succeeded in that quest.
The Ti Beast is very smooth through the front part of the lane, rev's up well in the mid lane and finishes very hard in an even arcing motion to the pocket. The even arc control is achieved because of the inverted light bulb weight block and the thick urethane cover stock.
The cover is very easily adjusted to different lane conditions and even after dulling or shinning the Ti Beast maintains an even arc and is very predictable.
The weight block is an upside down light bulb with titanium as the main ingredient. Titanium increases the hitting power but I couldn't begin to tell you the physics behind that. Just know, titanium doesn't loose energy as quickly on impact as other less dense materials do that are used for weight blocks.
This ball is very versatile because of it's even arc. That is a great reason to carry one. Resin Reactive balls tend to be less predictable so when the lane conditions are tough a hard hitting urethane ball like this wonderful Ti Beast from Columbia is a great response.
I highly recommend this ball for all levels of bowlers and I am looking for one right now to up grade my arsenal. They are very hard to find.
