Pros: Very spacious room.
Cons: Bugs in the hot tub made it too gross to use.
The Bottom Line: Stay. Just stay out of the water.

The Comfort Suites Davis California is okay so long as you don't want to soak your tired bones in the hot tub. The small pool and hot tub aren't much anyway. They sit just outside the main portico to the entry lobby. It's a very small pool and a small hot tub. The least they could do is keep it clean. But the evening that I wanted to soak a bit, the hot tub was full of spiders of various sizes and species, May flies and other assorted specimens more appropriate for an entymology collection at UC Davis than the hot tub at a hotel. When I complained at the front desk, the man just shrugged and said that the pool service hadn't been there in a few days. (It's a bit like that old joke, "Front desk man, there's flies in the hot tub". Answer: Don't worry, no extra charge")
So as long as you don't want to swim or soak, here's the rest of the story.
Room: Calling these places 'suites' stretches the meaning of the word more than a bit. The 'suite' is a nice large room, with the beds separated from the sofa and coffee table by a small room divider. The beds were very firm and comfortable. The room was clean. The bathroom was spacious. There was a small frig and microwave and a sink for filling the coffee pot.
Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast buffet was better than most continental breakfasts at motels. This one had scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. In addition it had the waffle-maker that is ubiquitous at Comfort Inns these days. The breakfast room is very large with plenty of tables off the main lobby.
Other amenities: The Comfort Suites Davis is an easy on/easy off of Interstate 80 and just a few miles from the UC Davis campus. There are a few restaurants within easy walking distance: Applebee's, Wendy's and an IHOP. There is only one computer for guests to use and it is right inside the front door.
