Great Place!

Written: Jun 23 '02 (Updated Jun 23 '02)
Pros:All Suites, two types, Microwave, fridge, high-speed internet, free continental breakfast, heated pool and jacuzzi
Cons:Not a GREAT deal of privacy from other bedroom in the suite.
The Bottom Line: Great comfortable rooms with many ammenities all at a low price! When in San Diego, you MUST stay here!

My wife, three kids, and I stayed two nights here in the beginning of June, 2002. We absolutely loved it.

We made our reservations easily on the internet ($120 a night) and headed to San Diego. They offer two types of suites. A king size bed and hide-a-bed sofa(each in separate rooms), or a Kids suite with the hide-a-bed sofa room converted to kids bunk beds and a kids play table.

When you walk into the hotel, you're greeted with friendly staff, a beautiful lobby with a natural gas fireplace. Our room was on the first floor just down from the office and right next to the dining/conference room and pool area, which was all great.

When you enter the room, the only bathroom is immediately to the right, then you walk into the king-size bed room, complete with 27 inch TV, and, inside a beautiful wooden closet able to hang quite a bit of clothes, ironing board and iron.

Since my youngest is two, we opted for the hide-a-bed room. The sofa opens up to a full-size bed, very comfortable for the kids age 2,4, and 6. The microwave and mini-fridge were in that room with a 27 inch TV and remote. The TV services offered all sorts of cable channels and pay-per-view movies, as well as Nintendo games!

The two rooms are separated by a sliding wood and glass door, similar to french doors, but sliding. This did not allow for noise reduction between the two rooms, so the wife and I couldn't have too much fun, if you no what I mean. Also, since the bathroom is by front door, so anyone in the far(kids) room has to walk through the front bedroom to get to it.

They give everyone a free continental breakfast: bagels, toast, donuts, pastries, several types of cereals (frosted flakes, granola, bran flakes, cheerios), fruits, coffee, orange/grapefruit/apple juices, milk-- I could go on and on! Unlimited amounts of each-- all free!

The maid cleaned the room each morning fantastic! The staff was always pleasant. Check in and Checkout was a breeze.

The hotel is located just a couple miles from several beaches, the San Diego Zoo, and right next to many restaurants, as well as a big shopping mall and movieplex.

Nothing bad to say! When in San Diego, stay here!

I can't wait to stay there again!
