Thanks for the additional input. I need to do something with my current mattress. My back hurts every morning. :(

I totally would have recommended this mattress, if it fit the bed. We will certainly be looking into more memory foam types in the future, just doing a little more research first :) Kimm

I currently have a heated mattress pad, but was thinking about a memory foam one. While that isn't exactly the product you reviewed, it is very similar. I was hoping that it would extend the life of my mattress, which is quite old and makes my back hurt.

Would you have recommended this mattress pad if it fit your bed correctly?

Who ever said that sleeping closer together was a bad thing?! ;) Okay, so I like room to sprawl...I guess we'll avoid this one.

...very similar...Memory foam, but got it from Overstock.com and the size is fine. The directions on the package said to let it "uncurl" for 24 hours, maybe that was to let it stretch out?? Not sure, but it seems to fit the bed and does not shift. Sorry you haven't been as thrilled with yours!

wanting one of these. The pillow top on our mattress is a mess, but I don't want something smaller than our bed! Thanks for the information.

A fan of mattress pads for years (Reply to this comment)

I actually got "turned on" to mattress pads when my best friend told me about electric mattress pads. Throughout the next 15 years or so, we've gone through many, but still love them. Now they're so plush that the one we currently have, you can't even feel the electic wires (this, compared to the older models of the 80s)

Electric mattress pads are great for those who are tossers & turners and sleep with their covers stolen by a loved one.

I don't know if I'd like a plain one that didn't provide heat for our frosty California winter mornings!

Enjoyed learning about the shortcomings of your pad!
