| bigchico's Full Review: Comfortaire Cerenity Mattress |
This mattress is extremely comfortable, however, it's poor quality and shoddy construction far outweigh the comfort factor. Given the experience I've had in the year and a half I've owned this mattress, I offer the following.
If you buy one of these expect:
Air Leaks...leaks in the pump, leaks in the air chamber, leaks in the air hose, in fact, leaks everywhere.
Your pump will probably break. Either it will just quit working (as mine did), or one of the small plastic fittings the hoses connect to will break (as mine also did). The warranty does cover replacement, but be prepared to be without your pump for a while, as they won't ship a replacement until you return the broken one, and they take their sweet time about it.
When you bed arrives, learn everything you can about how it works, because if you have a problem, the nice folks at Customer Support will expect you to preform your own troubleshooting without any inconvenience to them. It's kind of like taking your new car back to the dealership and having them expect you to crawl under it and fix it yourself.
When you assemble the bed, the foam sides will not fit correctly. This is just poor design and construction.
You might find your comfort setting once, but you will never find it again. The remote controls have no indicator, so good luck on finding the same setting twice.
Don't even think of adding air to your side of the bed while your spouse is asleep on the other side. The pump makes about the same amount of noise as '69 Mustang with glass packs. Removing air is pretty quiet, so if you like sleeping on the bare foundation, you're in business.
You will have large sags where you sleep and a hump in the center of the mattress where you don't. No way to avoid it. Even when covered with a thick comforter, your bed will look like it belongs in a fleabag motel.
Your sheets will not fit right, nor will they stay on the bed. Again, nothing you can do short of resorting to duct tape. I admit this is minor, but when you spend this much on a bed and over $750 on linens, it would be nice if they fit.
This mattress is expensive, and that means anyone thinking of buying one has several other options. I highly suggest you take one of them.
