Six years ago we were in need of a new mattress. We weren't too happy with the mattress we owned at the time, so I decided to check many reviews to ensure that we would buy a mattress that we would be happy with. Due to different body types, I thought the air-mattresses might work for my husband and I and my research ended me here on epinions.com. The reviews for the Comfortaire Cerenity mattress were all very good and based on those reviews we bought the mattress.

Honestly, from day one the mattress wasn't good. For starters, the mattress isn't one even level. There are two large "air pockets" for each person and you have individual controls to either inflate or deflate your side of the bed. Unfortunately, these air pockets are situated lower in the mattress than the non-air parts of the mattress. This created sunken sections on both sides of the bed. We weren't able to comfortably snuggle anymore. The hump in between us was so uncomfortably high that you either had to lie right on top of it or you would just roll back to your side of the bed.
I remember that there was a good return policy, but the mattress is shipped to you, packed tightly into boxes. The reality is that you can't just ship it back. How would you? I could never squeeze the mattress back into a box without equipment to help compress it. Maybe there is a way, but I never found one.
The top of the mattress can be zipped off, so a year ago we decided to buy a new top part, hoping to create a little more comfort for ourselves. This made no difference.
I no longer could sleep in on the weekends, because my body was just too painful after a night on that mattress. Sleeping on my sides caused too much pressure on my hips, because there just wasn't proper support. It felt like I was sleeping directly on the air mattress itself. Because you were kind of snuggled into your own little "nest" or "hole", you also couldn't find much comfort when lying on your back.
Sleeping in a pocket makes it also very difficult to roll over. You can't just roll from one side to the other, since you are surrounded by a mattress that is situated higher than your body. You actually have to lift up your body, stay in place, and try to turn over.
I truly wish that my experience had been better, because I would've had a better rested body.
