I have banked with Commerce Bank for quite a few years, and I started out with high opinions.
However in the last year I have seen a dramatic change in the customer service. I find the website is undergoing maintenance all the time, which blocks you out of the whole account or features of the account such as pending transactions.
The icing on the cake for me is when in one month Commerce has managed to lose $2400.00 on two separate routine procedures. One a bill pay transaction and one a wire transfer. It has been two months now and I have only gotten 35% of my money back.
Customer Service has declined tremendously since I first started banking with Commerce. I would not recommend opening an account at this bank.
I have spent one to two days a week on my lunch hour (the whole hour sometimes more) just to get information on where my money went. I received a ton of..."We'll Call You."
There have been other small issues during the past few years, mainly with pending transactions and trying to get the money back into the account.
Needless to say my accounts are closed. I am only sorry I have waited so long, perhaps then I would not be out so much money.
I think perhaps Commerce Bank has gotten too big too fast.
The website could be more efficient and user friendly.
