Pros:Excellent branch staff, warm , friendly, attentive and efficient.
Cons:Customer service extremely lacking in customer support. No follow up with customer. Lax security.
The Bottom Line: Choose a bank that will not leave you twisting in the wind after a screw up.

The absolute best account opening experiences I have ever had. A friendly and inviting person greets you at the door and immediately seeks to direct you to the service you need. The associate was prompt, attentive and jovial. All my question were answered and my account was set up quickly and efficiently. Bank cards were even given at the opening only had to wait for checks. I left with a warm fuzzy. At least that was the case until.....all my money was paid out to an unauthorized vendor that showed blatant signs of questionable transactions. Identity theft and active fraud prevention should be at the top of the list for every financial institution. Their fraud investigator never wrote or even telephoned me regarding the investigation or its status. Perhaps this crime has become too common place. When it is your money however, you too will want some definite answers. I remain tremendously disappointed in how this bank managed to add insult to injury at every turn. The last turn came when I was charged a $12.00 fee for allowing my account to drop below its minimum.

They are a fine bank for simple day to day transactions, but you absolutely must watch your funds carefully at all times and use your debit card with great care. The law allows only a 60 day window to notify the bank of fraudulent transactions or YOU EAT THE LOSS. So, if you use your debit card make it your business as I did to check your account regularly and monitor every transaction with great care. I was always scrupulously careful with my debits which in the end saved me and minimized my liability. Commerce Bank in my instance really failed to reach out to me and let me know how the loss occurred.

Their lack of outreach left me alone and uncertain about the security of my funds. This is no way to bank. It led to an uncomfortable pseudo-paranoia that makes me check my account several times in a day to be sure my money is still in there. I moved my money as soon as my funds were restored (10 days) and am never going back. I was lucky I did not have checks bouncing all over town and had another account to fall back on. Will You?
