Citibank was adequate, but the fees were too high. So I switched to Washington Mutual which offered low fees -- along with hostile, lying incompetence. Commerce Bank now looks set to become my bank for a long time. They have the most generous fee structure -- free checking and even up to $5 in refunds per month if you're charged for using other banks' ATM machines. Walking into a Commerce branch is an almost disorienting experience after getting used to the abuse dished out at Washington Mutual or the indifference of Citibank. Everyone is really nice to you at Commerce Bank, the teller lines are short and the range and quality of services is entirely comparable to the big, big-fee banks. No other bank comes close to matching their opening hours, which even include Sundays! The Commerce Web site is fairly basic, but clear and fast.
