laura10801's Full Review: Commerce Ez Roller 4 Wheel Ploy Cart
How many times did I go back and forth from the back yard to the garage, where my garden supplies are, and back again? I don't know, but I can assure you I made that trip too many times, often carrying very heavy bags of soil or other things that I would rather not have to carry by hand.
I shopped around for a cart half-heartedly for a few seasons. Actually, all I wanted was a wheel barrow, if it had any extra bells and whistles I considered that gravy. But wheel barrows are shockingly expensive! I just couldn't justify spending 100 dollars for a cart. Then, one day I was at Home Depot (also known as Hell) and I saw it glistening in the sun! It was a big, green, plastic cart, with 4 wheels (2 large and 2 small) and bells and whistles beyond what I had ever even fantasized about! Actually it was in a big stack being held together by a thick plastic tie and it had no price, but it is more romantic to make it glisten in the sun. I knew it was going to cost a fortune, but something made me ask one of the completely incompetent employees of Hell how much it cost, and after at least 30 minutes of waiting for a definitive answer it turned out to be only 45 dollars! The heavens above opened up and I saw the light! This cart was going to be mine!
The cart is light enough that when it is empty I can easily lift it, but it is big and deep. It is shaped so that you can fill it with un-bagged soil, or in one instance gallons of compost, wheel it to the desired site and dump it, like you would dump from a wheel barrow. However with 4 wheels it is much easier to move things without tipping over or breaking your back. You can just push the cart or you can lift the back while you push for more leverage. Oh joy!
Let me tell you what I have been able to fit into my beloved Ez Roller 4 Wheel Ploy Cart. A full cubic foot of soil in a bag, beneath several different hand tools, including a small pickax (I love Mr. Pickax, as I call him), a large bottle of fertilizer granules, a watering can, with careful placement, my little rolly seat-cart, a few dozen bulbs in bags, a bottle of liquid fertilizer, a bag of bulb fertilizer, and gloves, of course! That's a lot of stuff! The product description says it can hold 4 cubic feet of material and I am assuming that doesn't take into account the fact that if you are like me, you can usually find a way to squeeze in a few more things on top.
The handles have plenty of space for big, gloved hands and fill up my hands without being too big or too small. I am strong and I have little trouble maneuvering the cart most of the time, except when I over fill it. I am able to get it over curbs and whatnot with a little use of practical physics (lift the back and pull the cart backward over the curb). There is a section right in front of the handles with holes in which to place hand tools. I have attempted to put in tall tools too, this doesn't work well because there is nothing to keep the tools from hitting the ground and dragging.
The cart has mysterious holes that look like you can attach something to the sides. I have not used them as I have not figured out what they are for and Home Depot didn't have any literature for the cart (which was fully assembled). According to Amazon.com there are tool clips on the sides to attach tall tools. Perhaps that's what the holes are for.

I see Amazon is charging $66.27 plus $62.96 shipping for this cart. That is appalling seeing as I got it for $50 by going to Hell... I mean Home Depot... to purchase it. Perhaps it is worth the extra money to get it delivered to your home without dealing with incompetent people who cannot get a price in less than half an hour, that is up to you.
