animal2b's Full Review: Comodynes Self Tanning Towelettes
I picked these up at the specialty grocery store the other day. They were 1.70 per pack and since I've had bad luck with self tanning creams in the past (they smell like burning flesh), I decided to just buy one pack. They recommend wiping the pad onto yourself in a circular motion, so I did. According to their site it takes about 3-5 hours for the tan to set in. So, six hours in, when I went to check my arms, I noticed spots -- I was tan in some spots and totally pasty in others. Not cool. I went to bed and when I woke up in the morning, the pasty spots had filled in overnight ... a little bit. But not great. I got out my tanning creams that I have stored in the closet and tried to fill in the spots that had no color. That worked. I'll definitely try these towelettes again -- maybe I need to focus on where I'm rubbing them -- maybe I missed a spot. I'll also keep in mind that it takes much longer than 3-5 hours for the color to set in. As for the smell of burning flesh, it is vastly minimized over the lotions and creams... but I do still smell it slightly. But it is bearable. I also noticed my arms and back were a little bit sticky for about a half hour after using, but it cleared up on its own. The tan didn't come off when I showered the next day.
