The Bottom Line: For warts on hands, this works if you keep treating it until it is gone. Larger warts like on the feet may not be as easily treated.

Even the word is ugly--wart. But a rose is a rose. If they named them anything but wart, they would still be ugly.
Children seem prone to getting warts on their fingers. Perhaps I had caught them from my school age sons. After a few treatments for the warts on our fingers, the skin turned white and parts would peal off. Repeated applications of the liquid made the area tender and I am sure my picking at the area did not help any.
We covered the warts with bandaids, and when the little black cells appeared in the middle of the wart, I know they were nearly conquered. The small discomfort or stinging sensation from the medication was worth it. We could show our hands in public now. Warts made me so self conscious and unclean.
Then I got a plantar wart on the bottom of my foot. In fact, I had two large ones and one smaller one. The medicine did not work no matter how hard and how long I treated them. My doctor put acid on them for weeks which made driving with that foot very uncomfortable. The acid did not work so I was sent to a dermatologist.
The specialist put liquid nitrogen on the warts which did the job. I still have thick calluses on my foot, but they never came back. I heard that if you are treated with radiation on stubborn warts, you can never have more radiation on that spot.
I wonder if age has anything to do with warts. My children never got them again nor did I. I was around second graders in my classroom who had warts but neither I nor other children seemed to get them. Anyway, for small warts on fingers, I would recommend Compound W but now that they have the gel, I might use that instead of the liquid as it would be easier to apply.
