| soulveil's Full Review: Compound W Liquid |
Boy take it from me, this stuff is GREAT. In fact I'll explain how great as I describe how I foolishly went about dealing with a wart or two before using Compound W
Before I was smart enough to TRY Compound W I had a wart removed in a rather expensive, painful way. I had developed a plantar’s wart on the bottom of my foot, in the general area between the big toe and the rest of the little piggies and RIGHT on the ball of my foot. Let's just say it was like putting a ROCK on the bottom of your foot just at the base of your toes and taping it in place. The result? Constant, annoying, pain although not painful enough to keep from doing anything. It's like the rock-in-my-sock example. Try it sometimes (yeah right)... it really stinks. I had this for months.
I had gone to a doctor for several treatments which involved cutting the skin off the top of the wart and applying liquid medicine, as well as stinky liquid "seal coat" to seal in the medicine. This was messy and time consuming. Eventually it got so bad I had to have it completely CUT off and I could barely walk for well over a week. I should have just done to the store and cut to the chase months before. If I would have caught it right away I wouldn't have had this big problem more than likely.
Some time later I developed a wart on the side of my pointer finger. I went ahead and attempted the tactics that hadn't even worked before for some reason. This means I went back to the cutting of the skin and messy medications. Then my fiancé stated the obvious, that I should try Compound W. I was a bit skeptical, after all the treatments I received from a DOCTOR hadn't had any effect. I was proven wrong.
I bought a small bottle and tried it out. It had a little dabber stick so you can put the medicine on the wart. Try not to get it on healthy skin otherwise it BURNS. It burns a bit even on the wart but since the wart is a virus growth anyway for me it wasn't too bad. I can deal with burning if I know it's going to get that awful, nasty thing off of me!!
You have to repeatedly apply the medicine as the directions advise, which creates an ever-growing patch of ugly white skin over the wart. I still had a very small, sharp blade I had from the first doctor which I used to lance away the extra skin and get the medicine closer to the actual wart. I think if you leave the white skin there, the Compound W just has more dead skin to work through.
I'm not exactly sure how long it took for the wart to disappear, but it wasn't more than two weeks if even that. It was well worth it; the wart disappeared and has never returned. This made me extremely happy, as there is nothing more aggravating then having the same darned wart return later for another visit.
It should be noted that this product does not work for all types of warts, some you truly have to get removed by a doctor. But it's an excellent start.
The only real downsides that I can think of are the smell of this product; it is a strong smell. Also the dead white skin is pretty gross and I really advise to safely cut it off somehow. But other than that I highly recommend this product.
