Comtrex Sore Throat Relief...Just a Swallow Away

Pros: Does what it says it will do.
Cons: Didn't like the taste.
The Bottom Line: This gets rid of that nasty sore throat so you can get on with life.

A few days ago I woke up with the granddaddy of sore throats, nothing I did would relieve it.
I did the usual home remedy of gargling with warm salt water and the only thing that did was make me thirsty.
Digging around in the medicine cabinet I found a bag of Fisherman's Friend and thought I would give that a try but that didn't help either because I couldn't swallow to let it get near my throat.
This sore throat was so bad that I would rather drool on myself than swallow.
At night when I would finally go to sleep I would swallow and it would wake me up.
The next morning was Saturday and I couldn't take it any longer, I had missed a whole nights sleep and was tired plus not feeling well.
I turned on the computer and went directly to Epinions to find out what some of my favorite writers might have used for their sore throats and there it was six reviews on Comtrex Sore Throat Relief. Only one negative review out of the whole bunch, yes this looks like the miracle I have been waiting for.
I told my husband we were going to Wal-Mart to pick up a bottle, as I didn't trust him to remember to take the note or remember what I wanted. The only thing he had on his mind was to pick up a case of oil and oil would not help my throat.
When I got there I started my frantic search for the Comtrex Sore Throat Relief and I finally found it, there was one box left and by golly it was going to be mine. Apparently others had heard of this before I had.
We made our purchase, mine of Comtrex Sore Throat Relief and my husbands of a case of oil and out the store we went.
When we got in the car I was fumbling with the box to get to this nectar of the gods. I wanted relief and I wanted it fast.
The Comtrex Sore Throat Relief comes in an 8 fluid ounce plastic bottle with it's own little dosing cup.
My husband finally got the shrink-wrap off of it and I poured the one-ounce in the little cup that came with it that is pre-marked showing the correct amount.
I said a silent prayer asking that I please be allowed to swallow this so I could start getting some relief and I did. Don't know how because my throat still felt like I had had a tonsillectomy with out any anesthesia.
Now to me the taste wasn't great at all but I thought I could get past that if only it worked. I had purchased the honey lemon flavor Comtrex Sore Throat Relief but didn't taste either. Maybe my taste buds were off since I was sick.
When we arrived home fifteen minutes later the Comtrex Sore Throat Relief had not worked. I was fast becoming disappointed but thought, no give it time.
Within a half an hour my throat was feeling so much better that I could get a glass of water without feeling like I was swallowing chards of glass. Yes!!! The Comtrex Sore Throat Relief was working.
On the box of Comtrex Sore Throat Relief it says it give up to 6 hours of pain relief and immediately soothes pain.
It did not immediately sooth the pain but it did work after about 30 minutes. I did not get 6 hours of relief but around 4. That was better than I had been.
I waited until the 6 hours were up and tried it again, this time it did seem to work a little faster and a little longer. That night I did get some sleep without waking up every time I swallowed.
I used the Comtrex Sore Throat Relief
For four days and got the relief I so badly needed. Right now I can swallow without pain.
I just wish I could get my voice back and not sound like Minnie Mouse. I guess that will come in time.
Until something better comes along Comtrex Sore Throat Relief will be the only thing I keep in my medicine cabinet because it does get rid of that sore throat and works on fever, muscle aches, headaches.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Acetaminophen 1000 mg……………..Pain reliever/fever reducer.
INACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Caramel color, citric acid, flavors, glycerin, polyethylene glycol, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, sodium saccharin, sorbitol, sucrose, water
WARNINGS
Alcohol warning: If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, ask your doctor whether you should take acetaminophen or other pain relievers/fever reducers. Acetaminophen may cause liver damage.
Sore throat warning: Severe or persistent sore throat or sore throat accompanied by high fever, headache, nausea, and vomiting maybe serious. Ask a doctor right away. Do not use more than two days or give to children under 3 years of age unless directed by a doctor.
If pregnant or breast-feeding ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children.
DIRECTIONS
Adults and children 12 years of age and over, take 1 fluid ounce using dosage cup provided, or 2 tablespoonfuls every 6 hours, while symptoms persist. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours, or as directed by your doctor.
Children under 12, consult a doctor.
I included the information off the box for those that would like to know instead of running to the store and finding out that it can't be used for children or they are allergic to some of the ingredients.
