Pros: Can't think of any
Cons: Difficult to use, created twists that aren't really braids
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a funky way to style your hair, and you're not 10 years old or younger, I'd shy away from the product.

| james528's Full Review: Conair Cbd10ncs Quick Braid Hair Braider |
I bought one of these while I was in college, studying Graphic Design. I enjoy my own style and have pretty long hair that tends to get in the way while I'm creating my artwork, so I thought this would be a fun and new way to keep the hair tamed. New way to tame the hair, yes. Fun? Not really.
I read the instructions which tell you to place two thin pieces of hair in each clip, then flip the switch in 1 direction and then the other, to create the braid. Just putting the hair in the clips was difficult for me. If the strands aren't exactly next to each other, the "braid" becomes tangled and somewhat painful. If you use too much hair, they just look thick and bulky, but if you use thin strands, it takes forever to do your whole head!
The beads...well, the beads are interesting. They're snap beads, which is convenient, but they look a little....cheap? They're big and bulky and plastic and way too bright. Maybe some brown tortoise shell colors or black would look better. But maybe being 22 years old, I shouldn't have expected much more. I used the rubberbands because it was more my style, but I really can't say too many negative things about the beads. I think I was just beyond the intended age group.
Overall, I dont think I would recommend this product to anybody over the age of 10. It would be adorable on a little kid, especially with the brightly colored beads. And it's probably a lot easier to "braid" someone else's hair too; I had trouble doing the back of my head evenly.
In the advertisements, they show plenty of people my age using the product and it looks half normal. The product itself is much more difficult and time consuming to use than the commercial implies, and that irritates me. I'm not one for false advertising, so I have to knock off a star for that. The quality of the product? Well, the quality of it was fine. I think it would stand up for a while, seems pretty sturdy.
