After my trusty Hot Tools ceramic plate flat iron died, I needed a replacement quickly. I picked this up at Walmart for about $20, assuming that with 25 temperature settings, one would be hot enough to straighten my hair.
While I could straighten my hair in about 30 minutes with my Hot Tools iron, this one took almost two hours. It didn't get hot enough, and was so small that I had to straighten my hair in tiny sections. When I was finished, my hair didn't have that nice glossy finish, and I felt like the plates were damaging my hair. The edges of the plates aren't rounded, and dragging my hair over the edge of the plate destroyed the cuticle and gave me split ends.
This might work well on thinner or shorter hair, but because of the damage it causes I would not recommend it for anyone. Save your money and buy a Hot Tools or Chi flat iron.
