My wife had just recently started a new job, her feet were definitely taking a royal punishment. Which is usually the case when your on your feet for 8 hours straight! She never stops going on about how much her feet are hurting. The other day, we were walking through our local Walmart, we came across the foot care section of the store. They had about 4 different choices of foot spas on the shelves, two conair, one Home medics, and one from the good old Dr. Scholl. The choice was pretty easy to make, the price made that choice for me. Well I forked out $20.00 for the Conair FB10SW. It looked as good as anything else that was available, for half the price. Well there actually was something available for under $18.00, but I didn't like the look of it compared to the conair. I believe it was a homemedic.
Well, we took the Conair Foot Spa home as fast as we could. It was not more than 5 minutes until I was unwrapping the box and pulling out the unit, you could say my wife was a bit anxious to say the least. Instructions are very straight forward, and easy to understand. They tell you about the different settings on the top of the spa and what they will do. What you have on this spa, is three separate settings. The first setting, is for vibration and heat. The second is for bubbles and heat. The last and best, is the combination of all three. Heat, vibration and bubbles. I looked over at my wife as she flipped the switch to this last setting, I couldn't help but notice the smile on her face. I got the feeling she approved.
Included in the box is the spa basin itself, two gel foot pads for extra comfort, two extra attachments that stick out on top. One of these has a sandpaper like surface, this is for buffing the bottom of your feet, and the other attachment is one with little massage nibs on the end of it. I suppose this is for a different kind of massage, getting real deep if you want to. Neither of these seems to stay on very well. One thing that really impressed me with the Conair FB10SW, was how deep the basin was. On the top is a splash guard, which helps prevent water from spilling over. If you fill the basin too high, it will spill, no matter how careful you are. If you watch closely in the distance, you will see water spitting into the air every so often. But nothing to speak of. You can also use this unit as a dry massager, with no water in it at all. But only on the first setting.
Conair, are very explicit on how important it is to use a grounded outlet. I mean thats no rocket science, especially when your dealing with electricity and water. Do not take this lightly, your life could depend on it. The cord is 6 foot long, but could definitely stand to be a couple of feet longer. They also tell you, this unit will not warm up water, you have to put the water in warm. What it will do, is keep it warm and maintain the temperature. And it does indeed do just that. I opted to add a cup of hot water after a while. At the request of my wife.
I bet your wondering if I tried it out, yes I did. I have to agree with my wife, it does feel pretty good. The last setting is the best. The gel foot pads are nice and comfortable to put your feet on. A nice little extra touch on the part of conair. On the bottom of these gel pads, are small holes. These let the air bubbles through. You of course, can use the spa without the gel pads, the feeling is actually better without because you get the full effect of the bubbles. On the bottom of the basin are little massage tips, as you rub your feet along the bottom it massages them. In between these massage tips are the air jets. The jets release millions of bubbles. I'm quoting them on this number.
I would have to say, this foot spa is well worth the money spent. I'm happy I got it, if anything for my wife. If it can help her even a little, it's worth the money. And oh yes, it has a one year guarantee. Go on, pamper yourself a little, your worth it!
Well, here is a bit of an update, as I am writing this review I just asked my wife, who is sitting across from me "Did you notice a difference in your feet since you used that spa?" She nodded her head up and down in response to that question. That's a "YES" in case your wondering. Need I say more. Now if we could just find something for the back?
