A hair dryer is just one of those things that every household with a female needs.  The "wet" gel look went out in the 80's (which means it will probably come back in fashion next week) so I always blow dry my less than shoulder-length hair when I have to go out into the world that day.  If I leave it to air-dry, it quickly reverts to the ill-advised spiral perm look of 1990.  If I blow-dry it with the Conair 1875 Watt Ion Shine Hair Dryer, it is mostly straight with a little bit of wave. 

About This Product

The Conair Ion Shine Hair Dryer is your basic model hair dryer with a few extra features.  It also claims to shoot negative ions at your hair which are supposed to combat the positive ions already there that cause static, flyaways, and frizziness.  There also is a "cool shot" feature that you can use to supposedly "freeze styles in place" whatever that means.  There are high and low blow speed controls as well as high and low heat speeds.  This hair dryer also comes with a diffuser attachment. 

I bought my first one of these hair dryers almost 10 years ago for $20.  When that one died, I bought the exact same model for... $20.  It seems that inflation hasn't yet hit personal care products like the lowly hair dryer.  Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

My Experience

Frankly, I'm not the kind of girl who spends much time working on her appearance.  I don't wear makeup, I don't buy fancy clothes, and I keep my brown hair less than shoulder-length for a reason.  All I need from a hair dryer is the ability to dry my wavy/frizzy hair with minimal fuss. 

When I needed a hair dryer during my first big move out of my parents' house 10 years ago, I bought the Conair Ion Shine 1875 Watt Hair Dryer.  It had more features than I needed, but it was larger than a travel version and less expensive than some of the fancier models.  It worked very well for me day in and day out and day in and day out... until 10 years later it started randomly emitting sparks as I used it. 

It was time to retire that hair dryer but I went right back out into the world and bought a new version of the exact same model.  Yes, they are still selling it.  Either Conair knows they have a wonderful product or they are just a really lazy company.  My new hair dryer had the exact same features and works/performs exactly the same way.  That's fine with me because I've always been happy with my Ion Shine Hair Dryer.

Overall Opinion

I am a huge fan of this Conair Ion Shine 1875 Watt Hair Dryer because it has served me so well for a decade and is so easy to use, powerful, and durable.  When my first one died, I bought the exact same model which I think is a testament to how much I like this hair dryer.
