Hi! I agree with you. All the literature I've seen also says negative ions. This hair dryer is still working great for me. I'm very pleased with it.
Thank you for leaving a comment.
Enjoy your day,

I wonder whether isilya knows what s/he's talking about? The Instruction & Styling Guide for this dryer says it uses negative ions. Most "ionizing" hair dryers I've looked at say they use negative ions, except the Sharper Image ones which use positive ions.

Actually, while your comments about negative ions = positive health benefits are correct, the ions that hairdryers produces are *cationic* or positive ions. In fact, all hairdryers produce a degree of positive ions, but these ion hairdryers crank that amount up.

Hi! I find the hairdryer lightweight, but I have short hair and only use it about 10 minutes at a time. You might want to see if there is a demo model in the store that you can hold to determine if it is a good weight for you. I don't consider this a portable dryer as it would take up a lot of room in a suitcase.
Hope this helps!

I have been looking around Epinions for a new hair dryer, and I think I have decided on this one. Your review is very thorough and detailed.
The only thing I am still curious about is how heavy/bulky this hair dryer is. It takes me around 20-25 minutes to dry my hair, so it's important to me to have a somewhat lightweight dryer!
Good review.

Focus on different points (Reply to this comment)

I thought too much time was spent on the cool air blast feature which has been on hair dryers for quite a while. I think most people want to know first about the ionic feature so start with this.
