My kids both have long hair, so we go through a lot of ponytail holders here. I like to have plenty of them around because I use them myself too, but I bought them a pack of Scunci No Damage Large Hair Elastics in Assorted Colors. They like to have stuff that matches certain outfits and such so these are a good purchase for them. Walgreens has an 18 pack of these (sometimes 19, they add a freebie black one) for 2 for $5 or $2.99 a pack.

These are made of thicker elastic, and they are a bit thicker than these I use, so I don’t use these thicker ones. My hair is really thick and when I use these by the time I loop it around for a third loop it feels too tight on my scalp. My kids have thinner hair though so these tend to give much more of a tighter hold for them which is what they need and their hair doesn’t slip out.

Also, I like these because there’s no metal parts to them, so you don’t have any metal digging in your head but also, I find that the metal part tends to rust and you end up having to throw these away. Usually this happens if they wear them swimming, but with these I don’t have to worry about them getting wet, or taking a ride in the washing machine should these get stored in a pocket.

Anyway, in this pack you get 3 of some colors, and 2 of others (and a black should you score a freebie one). You get 3 pink, and 3 blue, then two red, yellow, orange, light green, teal green, and purple. I usually buy 2 packs of these at a time just so there will be plenty.

These also pull out less hair than cheap brands we’ve tried and also, once again without the metal parts these are easier to deal with coming out. These are great for everyday and any situation like sports, where you can’t wear anything but elastics with no metal parts. Overall these are great and I’ve had no problems with them and would recommend them.
