Ever had one of those extremely long days? You know, the days where everything goes wrong; work is a hassle, the kids are screaming, etc? Well I have those days frequently. Thank goodness I have my trusted Thermal Spa Bath Mat. It's not as good as a full blown jacuzzi, but it does a pretty good job.
I have one of those really deep garden type tubs and this mat fits in it perfectly. The mat is designed to fit into any standard size tub.

It is simple to use. Attach the hose to the mat, plug it in, place the mat in dry tub, making sure the suction cups attach themselves, then add your water. Once you get the water to the desired level, turn the unit on Low to get a 'feel' of how the jets feel. Then you can turn it up if you want. I usually have someone else do this part because I am already laid back relaxing.
The recommended time for use is 15-20 minutes. After this, your water will be cooling down.
The motor runs and sends high pressure air through the hose, into the mat, and comes out the holes in the mat, producing massaging bubbles. Since the air is cold, the water gets cold pretty fast. I usually turn the unit off, empty the tub and refill it with hot water and do it all over again. I never was one to listen to recommended times, however, if you are sensitive to hot temperatures, you should really limit your time.
This mat makes for a really relaxing bath.
There are only a few problems that I have had. The noise level is pretty high. The high pressure of the air, along with the bubbles and splashing water, creates quite a bit of noise. After awhile, you get used to it. I use this noise to drown out the noises in the rest of my house (kids, TV, etc). Next is the fact that the mat doesn't always stay attached to the tub with the suction cups. I usually am able to hold the mat in place with my feet and legs, but at times, the mat tries to float upwards.
Cleaning
It is really important to check your mat frequently. Make sure the holes are free of hair or any other debris. You can clean the mat with mild detergent or soap and should be cleaned after each use.
When you are done with it, simply roll it up and put it away until the next time.

Price, Warranty, and Durability
I purchased this last fall at Sears for $49.99. The durability depends mostly on how you use it, who uses it, and how you care for it. Soon after I brought my mat home, I noticed a small tear in it. A patch kit came along with it and was easy enough to patch it, however, if the tear had been larger, I most likely would have had to return it. Since then, I am very careful about it. There is a limited manufacturers warranty on parts and workmanship for a full year.
Would I recommend this mat? Yes and no. I enjoy my mat and it helps to relax me, however, it is a hassle to get out and set up, although I am a bit lazy and when I get to the point where I need this type of relaxation, I have no patience whatsoever. But, if you don't mind getting it out and setting it up, then it's a nice item to have.
