Opinion Summary
Music? Noise? Yes
by furious_wombat | Mar 19 '02
Pros: Mind-altering, mind-bending, mind-shattering hyper-rhythmic music.
Cons: About as accessible as Fort Knox to a blind one-legged bank robber.

Thanks for the feedback.

I was not implying that anyone who doesn't like autechre isn't musical, and I'm not really certain where that tone is coming from. When I called this album "too much" for most people, I was implying that most listeners will consider it noise, not that they are any less musically-gifted/inclined than somebody who likes this kind of music.

It's a matter of taste and not musicality; perhaps I didn't make that clear enough.

While I am very impressed by your review, I have to take issue with your tone. You imply that anyone who does not like Autechre is simply not musically educated enough to understand it. I have tried to understand Autechre (check my review on the album in an earlier Epinion), but I simply do not appreciate the music. Yet I have played music for the majority of my life, and I consider myself to be musically educated. Regardless, you've written a fine review. Keep up the good work.
