elzora's Full Review: Connoisseurs Jewelry Wipes 25'S
My earring making business is really starting to take off, and I now sell my earrings at three local shops in our town. I shied away from making too many earrings with sterling silver ear wires because the silver will eventually tarnish and look terrible. Because of this, I made more earrings with gold plated wires, but the silver are really more popular. What to do?
Well, I found a good solution to my problem. First, before I make my earrings, I wipe the ear wires with a special cloth that leaves an anti-tarnish protection on them, then I seal them in tiny air tight plastic ziplock bags until I am ready to take them to the stores. This works great!
I have a jewelry cleaning cloth made by Connoisseurs that I love, but one of my bead shops starting carrying the Connoisseurs Jewelry Wipes and I decided to give it a try.
Description
These are dry wipes, and they come in a red colored plastic container, which holds 25 wipes. The front of the container reads "Wipe n' Wear", and says they are the quick beauty treatment for gold and silver jewelry.
The cloths are colored white, measure 2.7 inches x 5 inches, and come out easily through the pop up style lid.
My Experience
These are surprisingly thick wipes, and are extremely easy to use. Since I have been wiping my sterling ear wires with these wipes, they have maintained their bright silver luster.
I also make earrings for Christmas bazaars, and sometimes they are sitting around for a couple months before the shows start, and I always had the problem of the silver turning dark on me, which was always very frustrating, since I needed a large supply of earrings for my shows and needed to start making them months ahead of time.
The container says that these wipes are safe on both silver and gold, as well as gemstones and other costume jewelry. They will leave an anti-tarnish coating on silver, but will also work nicely to polish dull gold pieces as well. I even use these on our watchbands to make them look like new.
The clothes are disposable, simply toss them when you are done, but I have actually placed used cloths in plastic ziplock bags and have been able to use them more than once. They are also non-toxic so I don't worry about my dog getting into the garbage. She loves to tear up any kind of tissue, and her getting into these and possibly getting sick was a concern of mine.
If you make and sell jewelry, I highly recommend these jewelry wipes. Connoisseurs has proven to be a reliable company and I haven't been disappointed in any of their products. This container of 25 wipes retailed for $7.00.
