Pros: Tread wear, road noise, low cost
Cons: Picks up a lot of rocks. Other reviews have been less than favorable.
The Bottom Line: Better-than-average performance from a tire I was ready to hate!

| GR8AV8R's Full Review: Continental CONTITRAC SUV OWL Truck/SUV Tire |
These tires are the standard factory fitment for new Ford Expeditions...my 2004 came with them, and I was skeptical. On dry roads, traction is excellent and noise is normal. On wet roads, which I live with nearly daily here in Seattle, the traction is fine. On snow, they are just fine. My several excursions off-road in light mud were completely uneventful. In short, I was ready to swap these for some Michelin LTX M/S's, but I see no need to. They're working fine!
I have rotated these tires at 7500 mile intervals, and the wear has been very even...what wear there has been. There is 10/32" tread remaining after more than 15,000 miles, which is excellent. My driving style is relatively sedate, but my wife drives this rig most of the time, and she can be a bit more aggressive in city driving. These silly tires are holding up very well, and I no longer wish to replace them!
If I have to complain, you should know that the tread design seems destined to pick up small rocks, and hold them. Maybe forever. My truck probably has a half pound of stones from my driveway embedded in them. But truly, this is my only complaint. And that ain't bad...
Many others have not had such luck. I feel obligated to report my experience...just rotate frequently. Seems to work for me.
