Pros: quick, easy game to play, fun for the whole family, brightly colored
Cons: expensive, balls roll all over the place
I was introduced to CooCoo The Rocking Clown by my son’s preschool. My son came home from preschool one day talking about CooCoo and I wasn’t sure what he was referring to. I first thought it was clown that came to school for the day to show them how to juggle. But I later learned that CooCoo The Rocking Clown was a game that my son enjoyed playing.
CooCoo The Rocking Clown is recommended for children three and older and requires one to six players to play. CooCoo The Rocking Clown is made by Blue-Orange Games which is a game company I was introduced to by my son’s preschool teacher. The object of CooCoo The Rocking Clown is to be the player to put the last ball on the clown without making any balls fall.
CooCoo The Rocking Clown comes with a wooden rocking clown, 24 balls and rules. CooCoo the Clown stands 8.75” tall by 8” wide and is made from solid wood. CooCoo is brightly painted with non-toxic colors. CooCoo has a curved base which allows him to rock. He has outstretched arms in which you will be placing the round balls. Actually the balls are cylinders but we find it easier for the kids to call them balls. The 24 wooden balls vary in sizes from 1” by 5” up to the biggest one which is 1” by 1”. The balls are painted red, yellow, blue and green. All the wooden pieces have a smooth finish.
Take turns choosing any ball and give it to the player on your left. The player who receives the ball has to place it on a part of the clown of their choice without making the balls fall. The next player hands a ball to the person on their left and they place the ball on CooCoo. With each ball that is placed in CooCoo’s hands, CooCoo rocks a bit, juggling the balls so none of them fall. Keep on placing the balls on CooCoo until there are no more balls or until someone makes the balls fall. If you make the balls fall, you lose and are out of the game. A new game starts with the remaining players. Keep playing till only one person remains and they are the winner. Or the winner is the person who places the last ball on CooCoo without making any of the balls fall.
You can also play CooCoo The Rocking Clown by yourself. Try to put as many balls on CooCoo without making any balls fall. Keep trying to beat your score until you are able to get all the balls on.
CooCoo The Rocking Clown is beautifully made. He has a bright yellow rain coat, floppy green shoes, a bright blue hat and red hair. The balls are all just as nicely painted and are larger pieces which make it nice for smaller hands.
CooCoo The Rocking Clown is great for all ages. Even my son’s grandpa enjoyed playing CooCoo The Rocking Clown with him. It is truly fun for the whole family. CooCoo The Rocking Clown is also a short game to play which is great for preschoolers.
CooCoo The Rocking Clown isn’t educational but it sure is fun. It will have you laughing the whole time you play. You do not need reading or math skills to play the game. We also love that there is no assembly required. You just pull it out of the box and it is ready to play.
I don’t recall what I paid for CooCoo The Rocking Clown but I have seen it online for $29.99. Personally we love the game but I do think it is a bit expensive. CooCoo The Rocking Clown is another toy my nephews have inherited and their family has enjoyed playing it as much as we did. Even with regular play, CooCoo does not show much wear.
When CooCoo The Rocking Clown tips over you need to watch the balls as they will roll all over the place. We have had a few fall off the table while playing and get stuck under appliances. So just keep an eye out when CooCoo does tip.
CooCoo The Rocking Clown would make a great gift for any preschooler. It is very durable and will last a long time.
My family and I loved playing Blue-Orange Games CooCoo The Rocking Clown and recommend it to parents with preschoolers. This Clown Rocks!
