I am a tea lover, and I drink it every day. I bought this teakettle 2 years ago and I still use it regularly and I like it.
I chose this kettle for several reasons: I think it is really nice looking, my friends call it my "sexy" teakettle. I also like the fact that you push the button on the handle and the spout stays open, whether you keep pushing or not, until you close it. I may be imagining this, but I honestly believe that water boils unusually fast in this kettle. Is this possible?
I do find that the handle gets warm when I boil water, but not unbearably hot. I did get burnt one time when I accidentally did not put the lid back on the kettle all the way (it normally sits tightly in the top), and the handle got very hot from the steam escaping from the opening, which is located underneath the handle. Aside from that one incident, which was my own fault, I have never had a serious problem with the pot.
The one disadvantage to the kettle is also my own fault. I keep it on an unlit burner on the stove at all times, sometimes grease from a frying pan spatters the pot. There are a couple of apparently permanent stains on the brushed stainless steel exterior because I used the kettle without realizing it was spattered, and the grease got burnt on. No amount of cleaning with a not too abrasive scrubby, or in the dishwasher have removed these stains. I don't want to use a scouring pad because it will almost certainly scratch the finish.
Still, I really like this teakettle, and I would not hesitate to buy it again.
