Coppertone Sport a Nostalgic Scent that Really Works!
Recently I started working in a greenhouse again and getting exposed to the sun for over nine hours a day. Since I had tons of sun exposure as a child I am very concerned about skin cancer and found it time to pick a sun block.
I am very light complected and have not had any sun exposure in the last few years.
A trip to the local super market found a large display of sun tan lotions on an end cap stackout. Prices ranged from $3.00 to $15.00 and I chose the Coppertone Sport Ultra Sweatproof Dry Lotion because of the features, price and packaging design. It was one of the more reasonably priced choices and rang out at around $4.00. A great price for a lotion that is PABA-free and provides UVA and UVB protection. I initially tried the SPF 30 but after one weeks use upgraded to a higher rating. This was due to the very extended hours I am in the sun, and my wish to avoid any more exposure than needed. The SPF 30 gave a nice even tan and lasted through 10 hour days. There was never any sun burn or peeling.
Packaging
The bottle design is upside down which initially gave me some concerns about spilling. I unload trucks of plants and work stock all day but the lid held out admirably and never spilled a drop. The bottle is also available with a lanyard ring as well so you can clip it to your belt and apply on the go. The bottle color is a dark blue which happens to match my uniform trim so I felt comfortable wearing it at work.
Performance
This Coppertone product was originally available in both SPF15 and SPF 30 ratings. Now it is available in SPF 15 and SPF 50 rating as well so if you already have a great tan or no tan at all this product will work nicely. SPF is an acronym for Sun Protection Factor. Simply put this rating given by the Food and Drug Administration measures how well the sunscreen blocks UVB radiation. The higher the SPF number the better and a rating of SPF 30 means you can stay in the sun 30 times than without the sunscreen and get the same tan. (used properly) This product is also now available as a spray, gel, or stick form.
No Slip Grip
I prefer not to wear gloves and will not use a greasy product. I found the Coppertone to be very dry and absorb quickly leaving your hands free to grip. This is one part of the formula that works great and needs no improvement.
Sweat proof
This sport style sunscreen is in fact water and sweat proof. However in my experience it will need to be reapplied like any other sun screen quite often. The reason is that if you are sweating profusely on the face, the act of wiping the sweat off removes the sun block. If frequent reapplication is the price for a non greasy formula I am happy to pay it. Coppertone Sport was the first to offer this feature.
Scent
This was really the most refreshing part of the product. I usually wear unscented products but found that I enjoyed the nostalgic scent of Coppertone. It brought back memories of the 㣪s and 1980s when it was the product to wear. When I remarked of this quality to a friend she sniffed it and said swim camp 1987. Its amazing how a scent can bring back memories and this is very reminiscent of the classic scent.
I rank this product highly and recommend you give it a try. Coppertone is truly a great mixture of value and features .
