Pros:Easy to use, cheap
Cons:Slow, not much available resources
The Bottom Line: I strongly recommend buying Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. You save a lot of money for a little patience.
I've always loved playing around with my photos from my camera, but Photoshop was way too pricey. So instead I got Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 - it was a lot cheaper and after much googling and seriously many free trials of the two, I found that it was supposedly easier to use for the beginners if you had to compare them both. Everything in Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 was much more organized and looked just as professional.
I also found that Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 was a bit slower than Photoshop. Photoshop is continuously updating its features, and Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 is also trying to imitate the actions of it.
When I was searching for brushes and tutorials, there was a noticeable difference between the two programs. Because Photoshop is more widely used, I found a lot more Photoshop resources than I did with Paint Shop Pro Photo X2.
All in all, I'd say Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 is an excellent product for beginners. It has pretty much everything you can find in Photoshop, and it is much more organized and is specifically categorized, so it's a lot easier to find things and explore.
