Her voice is soothing. I’m drawn to her sound, it’s foreign. Her sound is unique, raspy yet sweet. Her sound is fresh, different, nothing like I’ve heard from current artists. It would say this CD fits in the Blues, R&B, Easy Listening, Jazz, Soul, Pop genre. The tempo’s vary from slow to moderate.

The songs are real feelings and thoughts: love, heartbreak and everything in between. The lyrics are raw, true, easily understood by the audience. There are songs about a growing heart: falling in love for the first time, looking for love, the aftermath of love. Listeners can relate to her songs. I was surprised that there is an artist out there that sings songs about the feelings I have felt, as if she took it strait from my mouth. My favorite song is “Till it Happens to You,” about a love lost, and facing the hurt love can cause, something only one could understand “till it happens to you.”

This CD would most likely suit the female audience, from teenage years and on. It’s a good CD for the personality development of a growing teenage girl, compared to what is available in stores nowadays. It’s a “feel-good” album. It teaches you lessons, it opens your eyes, gives you different perspectives, and teaches to enjoy life. This whole CD is one that you can relax to, whether you’re at work, spending an evening at home, or trying to fall asleep, it’s great. Her sound, the way she sings the messages through the lyrics of her songs, I love Corinne Bailey Rae’s album.
