Pros: Less Expensive that a full size bed
Cons: Not very sturdy and very small
The Bottom Line: Not recommended. I feel the expense incurred is a waste and the money could be put toward a regular bed for the child to sleep in for a long time.

| mommaoffive's Full Review: Cosco 10-T41 Toddler Bed |
I have a toddler bed which my four year old daughter sleeps in. It is white, however, they do also come in red and blue. It can be used as a transitional bed from baby crib to full size bed, however, I think from my experience it would be better to go straight for the full size bed for a lot of reasons.
First of all, there will be nights when your child will want the parent to come in and sleep with them, for a nightmare, a scary sound or whatever the case may be. The toddler bed will not hold the parent as it only holds up to a certain amount of pounds, I believe it is 125 - 150 lbs, which unless you are a tiny person would not be feasible to sleep with them.
Secondly, I spray painted mine a light blue because it was so easily scratched and looked horrible in a short time. As active as children are, especially mine, I have twin girls that are six and my four year old, things are going to get scratched up.
As far as durability goes, I don't think they are that great in that department either. If the child jumps on the bed, the mattress falls between the bars underneath allowing the metal to be exposed which could be very dangerous. I know that children are not supposed to jump on them, but kids will be kids. The mattress is just a crib mattress which for babies is fine but for older children tears easily, is not very comfortable and doesn't last very long.
I bought mine because it was less expensive than buying a full size bed, but I sure do wish I would have spent the extra money to buy the regular bed and skipped the toddler bed all together.
The side rail that comes with the bed only covers half of the bed so if the child rolls during the night, they could easily roll out of the bed and get hurt. I think the rail should go all the way down preventing the fall all together.
I think the only time the toddler bed with be beneficial is when you have a two year old coming from the crib to the toddler bed for a short interim period. In that case, is it worth the expense???
