OK, it doesn't look like a fairy tale cottage or Formula 1 race car. But it is a terrific bed for a child who has outgrown a crib.
Ours had one feature that isn't shown here. Side rails that are covered in mesh. They are just big enough to keep the child from rolling or falling out, but not too big.
It was put together quickly and easily. It is very durable - survived #1 son jumping on it. The metal doesn't bow or bend at all. The headboard section has three vertical bars that are spaced close enough together to prevent head, neck or other body parts from getting stuck. The space from the edge of the headboard to the vertical bars is also large enough to be safe. The mattress fits snugly in the frame - major point to keep in mind when looking at toddler beds (same as cribs).
It is very light, which is both a pro and a con. I can move it as I need to but so can my son. The mesh does get dirty and is a little annoying to take off the side rails. The plastic "mattress holders" don't always stay put very well but I have never had a problem with the mattress coming out with regular use.
#1 son is now in a twin bed and we have the toddler bed stored for #2 son to use. If it holds up as well with him as it did with his big brother, I am certain it will go fast at a yard sale!
