Pros: An okay bed, has a side rail to keep your child in
Cons: bends, not the easiest to put together
The Bottom Line: On the box it looked nice, but in reality it fell short of our needs at the time.

| heathers_mom's Full Review: Cosco 10-T42 Toddler Bed |
Well, this was the first toddler bed my fiance ever bought. It was a good buy at the price he got it for. That was over 2 years ago, so I'm not sure what that price was at the moment. However, I remember when he came home with it. It was a good idea. He had just moved into a new place and he needed a place for his almost 2 year old to sleep. A crib was out of the question as the child never liked sleeping in one and they used to put the child to sleep in the playpen because she refused to sleep anywhere else.
I remember watching him put it together. It was a pain in the butt. First trying to figure out what went where and than holding it together to screw it in when you finally figured out that you had it right.
It didn't take long for this bed to bend. I was almost surprised when I lifted the matress one day how much it had actually bent. You see, this child had two older sisters who liked to jump on beds. They were close to 40 pounds at the time. Ages 3 and 4.
Well, when I went to wash the sheets one day, I saw that this bed was bent in a U shape. This along with the fact that the matress had gone through 1 older child before her had cinched it. We needed a new bed. This bed was just not cutting it.
Now there was one other part of this bed that we didn't like too much. The fact that this bed had a large opening at the top for the headboard. Before I had even noticed the bend in the bed, I knew we would have to do either some bed shopping or some fix-it shopping before we put the new baby in this bed(thinking ahead of course). Our daughter liked to push herself up to the top of her crib and snuggle up to it. If she was to do this with this bed she would definately be on the floor in a matter of seconds.
I will point out that we did like the fact that this bed had a mesh side rail. Even though both kids liked to push their faces against the side of their bed/crib, breathing wouldn't be a problem. I also like the fact that it had a rail. If we put one side of the bed against the wall, the rail would keep the child from falling out the other side. Although this is also dangerous because kids can get trapped between walls and beds. (We have learned alot through expirence)
The price of this bed was also attractive. I'm going to take a guess at $30. It may have been on sale at the time. Like I said, it has been over 2 years and the child this bed was purchased for is now 4 years old.
This bed is nice that it uses a standard crib matress and of course that means you can use your crib sheets for longer than the crib lasts (minus the pillow cover that is needed shortly after your child starts using a toddler bed), but it may be worth looking around for something a little more sturdier. With the sleeping, the tossing, the turning, the jumping, the moving around that this bed undertook in it's short lived life of just about a year, it not only bent, but became wobbly when the screws came loose. So much so that it was a hazard putting the child to sleep in this bed.
As I look back on it now, for a semi quiet child who doesn't roll much or doesn't have older siblings to jump on this bed as a trampoline, this bed may be just fine. But for our child, it just didn't fit the bill
