What? Save money on the Cosco Alpha Omega? How about 30 bucks! That's right! I did some extensive research on prices and found that the major stores in my area were asking between $129 and $130 for the Alpha Omega, but at my local Costco they are selling it for $99. It appears to be an item that they plan to keep in stock.
I am a mother of a six-month-old whose growth rate is off the charts, so I had to buy a seat that would accommodate his rapid growth, yet would also give me the peace of mind that as an infant, he is as safe as can be. I bought my first seat two months ago, and was so pleased with it that I purchased a second one.
Intelligence Level Required to Use This Product:
The installation is easy, and the shoulder harness adjusts without having to re-thread the straps.
The Time Test:
Even though I have only been using the Alpha Omega for two months, I can tell it's a winner. It is well made, and it cleans up well. I know this because my son enjoys spitting up EVERY time he rides in the seat!
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly:
If you're looking for style in this seat, you won't find it-(sorry, Eddie Bauer doesn't do a limited edition), but what you will find is safety, versatility and value. It was scary to think of my rapidly growing yet still so little baby having to use a full size car seat, but the five point harness and adjustable shoulder straps give me the reassurance that he's safe and snug!
My only complaints thus far is that my 6'2" husband has a hard enough time fitting into our Honda Civic, and having the Alpha Omega in the rear-facing and fully reclined position is a tight squeeze, but we manage. Also, even though the seat is simple to install, it does require some muscle, and I had a difficult time getting the vehicle's seat belt tightened properly.
Some people are taken aback by the price; however, if you consider that in most states, your child must be six years old and sixty pounds to ride without a supplemental restraint system, $99-$130 is not an outrageous price due to the seat's versatility.
