| moparmay's Full Review: Cosco Juvenile Apex 65 Booster Car Seat - 22531 |
My 2 year old has been using this seat for about six months now. I really wanted to find a seat that would keep her harnessed for as long as possible. After doing some research I found that there are only a handful of seats that harness past 40 lbs. Since my child had outgrown the height requirements for her other seat and is also over 35 lbs already, one of these seats was a must. The Apex was our cheapest option.
This seat has been great! Installation is simple using LATCH and the tether strap. I fits perfectly in our Jeep Liberty, the seat doesn't move and inch and never loosens.
The only a couple of drawbacks to this seat. The bottom clasp could be a little further out in the seat. I could see a larger child getting pinched while being strapped in. Also, this car seat requires a headrest or high-back seat for installation. The headrest of this car seat isn't stable on its own since it is adjustable.
I see us using this seat for some time to come. A harness is the safest option, and with this seat we should be able to keep our child harnessed past the recommended age. Once she finally grows out of the harness, it can be used as a booster! Well worth the money we spent.
