Pros: inexpensive, sturdy

| tracim's Full Review: Cosco Basic High Chair |
This Cosco High Chair is a very basic model at a very reasonable price. It has some good points such as...
Durability: We received this as a hand-me-down and it was still in pretty good shape. A little fading on the vinyl, a few scratches on the legs, but still entirely functional.
Light weight: No problem at all to pick up and move around, or slide on your floor without leaving marks.
Easy to clean: No cracks or crevices that are hard to clean. Simply wipe the whole thing down, and that's it. Wiping down with Clorox Clean-ups wipes has kept the tray from being stained.
Low price: This is one of the least expensive high chairs you can buy.
Does this sound like a high chair you want? If so, don't buy it! Why? The Graco Easy Chair offers a much better high chair at about the same price. What specifically, you ask?
Safety: The Cosco has an adjustable 3-point strap (around the waist and between the legs). The sides are open, making it easy for your child to maneuver into unsafe positions. Once you take the tray off, there's little holding baby in the seat.
The Graco model has a molded seat that surrounds baby on the sides, plus a bar that goes across the front and between the legs, and a waist strap. Much more security! The Graco seat is also slightly contoured, adding extra support for younger babies.
The tray: Both models have 3-position adjustable trays, and both require two hands. The mechanism on the Graco is much easier to operate, especially for someone with difficulties using their hands, like arthritis. With grandparents acting as caregivers a lot these days, this might be an important issue to you.
The seat cover: While the Cosco manufacturer's info page says the back and seat are replaceable - I don't see how! Maybe you can order whole new pieces, or they've changed the design since mine was made. On mine, the vinyl in permanently attached to the body of the chair. The Graco seat has an easily removable cover, plus it has more padding. You can get replacement covers from Graco, and I assume you can order replacement seats and backs from Cosco. (Since my Cosco was a hand-me-down, I don't have the information on that.)
If you're thinking of buying this Cosco high chair, definitely compare it to the Graco Easy Chair. I think you'll find the Graco offers a better chair at a comparable price.
