Pros: Easy to put together, conveniently folds together for storage or relocating, washable seat cover.
Cons: Uses batteries, swing speeds are very slow when compared to other swings.
I was given the Cosco Beginnings Gentle Motion swing at my son's baby shower by my husband's aunt. Although I am very grateful for this gift, I am very disappointed with it for several reasons.
First of all, when adjusting the speed, you can rarely tell a difference - for me, the fifth speed is not really any different from the first speed; you just can't tell that big of a difference at all. Secondly, sometimes the swing does not want to function at all. I have to keep turning it off and on, and position my son differently a few times before the swing will even move - sometimes it still won't work. This is very irritating. If I remove him from the swing and turn it on, it works fine. I am guessing weight affects the speed of the swing, but my son is only 8 lbs. and that is a shame because what happens when he weighs more? It's supposed to work for infants up to 25 lbs.
I am on my way to purchase a new swing as this one just won't work properly whatsoever. I had a Fisher Price Papasan cradle swing for my daughter which was perfect - this swing here does not compare whatsoever!
So, to summarize, I dislike this swing because there is only a slight change in speed when the settings are changed and at times it won't move at all.
