It is said that your child needs to be 2 years old or older to sleep in any toddler bed. This is not always the case though. I spoke to my daughter's doctor about it and she said that even though my daughter was only 18 months old she belongs in a toddler bed. The reason why is simple but serious. My daughter had begun not only climbing out of her crib, but also full blown jumping out of it. She nearly landed on her head one morning, lucky for her I had expected this and put down a thick rug down or she would have gotten hurt pretty badly.
I researched toddler beds for days on the internet. I could not believe the prices of some of them. They ranged 69.00 all the way to 400.00 . I was seriously sick looking at these prices and wanted to find better pricing. I started researching places near by. I went to the Walmart site and saw the Cosco Nod-a-Way Toddler Bed. It was priced at only 39.99 and fit any standard crib size mattress. This was the bed for us. We went to Walmart the next day and made the purchase of the Cosco Nod-a-Way Toddler Bed it came to about 45.00 with all the sales tax and everything.
As soon as we got home I had my boyfriend begin putting together the Cosco Nod-a-Way Toddler Bed for us. He said the4 directions were pointless because the bed was so simple to put together that it explained it all by it's self. But he also pointed out to me that the directions did not state which size screw went where. So it left us on our own having to guess. But when he finished putting the Cosco Nod-a-Way Toddler Bed together it was sturdy and strong so we had nothing to worry about. There is the head board, the foot board, two guard rails for safety, two bottom panels and a variety of screws, nuts and bolts of all sizes. All in all it took my daughter's father about a half hour to put it together. That includes the time it took to put the mattress on and sheets as well.
The bed is all white, the plastic is very thick and sturdy. It is very simple but cute at the same time. There is a wide plastic headboard which had room to put stickers or even engrave your child's name into the bed for them. We are going to buy the tools to engrave our daughter's name into it. It should come out great. When we do it, I will update and let every one know how good it turns out.The best part for me was that I did not have to run out and buy a new mattress, or even run out and buy new sheets. Since it fits all standard crib material I was all set to go as far as that stuff goes. It saved me more money then I could have ever thought of saving in the first place. The best part for my daughter is that she has a lot more freedom, she can move around more and she sleeps more comfortable. Now we don't have to worry about her falling out. We put a pillow on either side just in case she does fall but it is only a few inches off of the floor, so even with out the pillows I doubt she would even get a bump if she fell out.
My daughter has had the Cosco Nod-a-Way Toddler Bed for about a month now and she has never slept better. She is even sleeping straight through the night now for the first time ever. Leaving me with more time to myself. And if she is tired, I just put her in her bed and she falls asleep on her own. That has never been done by her before. I am so happy with this purchase. I highly recommend it to everyone with a child who is ready for a new step up. It is a great buy and great for the money as well.
