After our grandson arrived I did not realize how many car seats there were to choose from! I just wanted on that was durable, safe and would be easy for this old lady to figure out! Cosco came through!
My children had a car set called the "One Step" and it was so easy. I was looking for one similar and it seems Cosco has done it.
The seat is easy to manage with one hand. Place the punkin in and down goes the bar. He is snug and safe. No more fumbling with to many buckles, straps or banging his little head.
The seat has a solid construction. It is light weight about 10 pounds all together. It buckles either rear facing (for us for now) and then changes to forward riding. The sides come up about two inches to cradle the face and the top extends over the head about 5 inches. The bottom is tilted back in the rear-facing position to allow for comfort so that your little one is not all scrunched up.
The seat dimensions are as follows:
Rear-facing for infants 5-35 lbs.; forward-facing for toddlers 22-40 lbs.
Comfort padded shield and 3-point harness
Reliable, easy A-Lok harness adjustment
Easy push-button recline, tested both for infants and toddlers
Roomy one-piece polypropylene molded shell
Full-wrap padded fabric cover removes easily for machine washing
Meets federal motor vehicle safety standards
Approved for aircraft use
Equipped with LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children), a system that allows the car seat to be fastened to the vehicle without use of the adult lap-shoulder belt
the color is a basic blue and it works nice with either boys or girls. You can buy a head holder for the seat for your infant. We bought Pooh at Wal-Mart. We also bought the seat at Wal-Mart for around $50. I could not believe we were able to get such a high quality seat for such a reasonable price.
The only difficulty we had was figuring out how to buckle all the extra buckles to the car. We are going to have to go to the local fire station or police station to let a trained professional in car seat installation show us how to strap it down!
