| bonniesayers's Full Review: Cover Girl Clean Pressed Powder |
Many years ago I would purchase the Cover Girl® Clean Pressed Powder without a thought but so many other brands have invaded the market that my old trusty compact was turned in for sleeker designs that cost a pretty penny.
In recent months I have had to reassess my budget and found myself purchasing the natural ivory in fragrance-free for a very reasonable price at Rite-Aid. These are easy to remove from the package and open the case to see the mirror with the round puff. My compact is still being used with a sponge puff due to the other one not lasting as long as the contents.
The green compact has a CG logo on it and easy to pop open and apply while driving down city streets. With the summer heat upon us my skin gets blotchy and has rashes around the nose from the sunglasses. I always have a spot above my lip that is red and I usually rub it when in the sun. I alternate between my cortisone cream and vaseline to protect my face when driving and getting roasted from the ultra violet rays.
The Cover Girl® Clean Pressed Powder helps eliminate the redness that my face gets and helps make it look shine-free. I also started using the Cover Girl® Clean Liquid Make-up and together it is a win-win situation. In the end I am saving almost twelve dollars using these two products as opposed to other products and/or brands.
I am allergic to lanolin so this fragrance-free is the best option for me in this line of products containing zinc, kaolin, oat flour, mineral oil and other ingredients. I especially use this for my forehead and nose a few times a day since I am in my car up to three hours a day with no air conditioning. On days I can avoid driving I only have to apply the Cover Girl® Clean Pressed Powder once in the morning for a smooth and complete look. This is also dermatologist and allergy tested and available in an array of colors. There are so many ivory selections to choose from plus the added benefit of being able to see the color before making your purchase. The way they are packaged the plastic covering is over the makeup with the flap open for a preview.
The colors are broken into warm, cool or neutral with many options for each setting. If you want to purchase the natural ivory that would be a cool shade while the classic ivory is a warm shade and ivory is a neutral shade. There are options under beige, tan and creamy as well as some others I have never tried. The fragrance-free is not available in Canada.
The texture is a Noxzema formula although I have never used that particular product. I saved a compact, cleaned it out and placed it in a box of odds n ends for my kids when they play with kitchenware and tools. My son likes to check out his teeth with the mirror.
There is no scent to the Cover Girl® Clean Pressed Powder and the case or compact as it is called is light weight and easy to pack in a small bag for touch-ups when going out after work. I change my puffs often and the makeup leaves a hole in the middle of the compact and the last part to use is around the edges of the compact. You could always use a Q-tip to get all the makeup once the compact is close to empty. This is the finishing product you would use after applying foundation and before using a cheek blush.
Currently this is available through drugstore.com for $4.89 and it contains .39 ounces. Cover Girl® Clean Pressed Powder will last around two to three months depending on how often you use it. When making your purchase you might want to get a package of three powder puffs for $2.39 so you can change that monthly.
Cover Girl® is a name I can trust and their products are found at K-mart and drug stores or online. To learn tips, tricks and makeovers their site is located at http://www.covergirl.com. This leaves no residue on your hands since you use the puff, no smudges around the eyes but a fresh clean look that is not greasy or sticky. This is the product many girls start out with and might go back to years later when they have tried the rest and realize Cover Girl® is it.
