Pros: Very smooth application, volumizes, stays put, non-irritating
Cons: Bulky packaging
The Cover Girl brand has dramatically improved over the last few years. Ever since ExactLash came out three years ago theyve been coming out with the latest technology in makeup, some of it impresses me and some disappoints.
This year they came out with the so called mascara of the year called LashBlast, I heard about it in magazines and on TV before it was available on sale, so as soon as I needed a new mascara I went out looking for LashBlast. I wanted to get the non-waterproof version, several stores were out of it so I got it in waterproof.
I was veery excited about using my new LashBlast mascara, it was sold out everywhere, and I heard so much good stuff about it, it had to be good.
Cover Girl LashBlast Volume Blasting Waterproof Mascara comes in a chubby bold orange tube, it is pretty much the biggest mascara tube in drugstores right now. The waterproof version is marked by having a blue band where the tubes opening is, while the non-waterproof is silver. Each tube holds 0.44 ounces of mascara. It is available in three shades: Very Black, Black and Black Brown.
This mascara features a very large brush, the brush is super sized and the bristles are very short. The whole brush is rubber and was orange prior to the first use. The wand comes out of the tube coated with mascara, a little heavy for my liking, so I scrape it off against the edges before applying.
LashBlast applies very smoothly and easily while delivering dream lashes. I can have the natural look by applying one coat, or a more defined intense look by applying several coats. My Very Black shade is a true dark black. My lashes are voulmized, lifted and separated, I wish they were a little curled also.
I have not experienced irritations or watery eyes from using this mascara. My lashes do not flake or smudge mid day. They stay bold from when I apply till I remove, all day.
My only complaint is the space wasting packaging, but that is certainly eye catching. I was not a fan of the brush at first, but Ive gotten used to it and I love it now. The waterproof part has also worked well for me, it takes a little extra effort to remove the mascara at the end of the day, but removal is simple with a good eye makeup remover.
