Pros: LOVE the brush, cute packaging, it lengthens, defines, separates, leaves lashes full...
Cons: Flakes just slightly, hard brush, is tested on animals
The Bottom Line: This is the perfect mascara for every day use for a natural, clump free result that has lashes so long and defined which is easy to apply!

| cheekypig's Full Review: Cover Girl LashExact Mascara |
After having a very bad experience with my previous mascara; Maybelline Lash Stylist, I purchased this mascara next, still on my search for "The One" mascara. I was actually VERY pleased with the results, especially since this is my very first Cover Girl product.
The product:
This wonderful mascara comes in a very pretty, girly packaging that I was attracted to. It's covered in clear plastic. The mascara tube is capped with a small purple top. The eyelash wand is on the side of the tube, showing off the new brush - which I love - with the eye catching shade of bright purple. The eyelash wand is shaped (probably for comfort), also making it easier to apply the mascara onto your lashes because you have more grip of it. Once you open the packaging, you are supposed to discard the small cap on the mascara tube and replace it with the brush.
The bristles on the end of the brush are made of silicone and if you get it in your eye, it pretty much hurts! The bristles are the same color of the mascara tube, but obviously, once you put it into the mascara, it turns the shade you chose.
Cover Girl Lash Exact comes in a couple of colors; very black, black, black brown and brown. You can also choose to get the washable formula or the waterproof type. I personally, got the washable formula - I don't really need a waterproof one (besides, it's harder to wash off!) in black brown. I normally get the darkest shade available, but the store I went to was all out of the very black and only had the black brown shade left. It turns out to be almost a black and is quite nice on my lashes (which are black).
It comes in a 4ml (.13oz) tube and is available in most drug stores and shops. It really doesn't cost a whole lot, which is good; because I hate spending lots of money on something you're going to throw out three months later! It's about $6.
On Cover Girl website, they say: Get no clump, no glob, beautifully-defined lashes. The LashExact brush is a patented technology with bristles that are aligned and clean, so you get the Exact look you want.
On the cardboard packaging, it also says: No clumps on the brush, means no clumps on the lashes, for a defined and long lashed look! And: is hypoallergenic & suitable for contact lens wearers.
My experience:
I am very pleased with the results of this fabulous mascara. I was worried that, like my previous Maybelline mascara I tried, would clump and glob on the brush, but I couldn't detect any globs on the unique brush and once I applied it on my lashes, it was smooth and even with absolutely no clumps at all. I was very pleased with this, as I hate clumpy mascaras; they don't look nice and are uncomfortable on lashes. The black brown shade looked very natural and is perfect for day wear. Even on my black lashes, it looked quite nice.
If you want to go out at night, I think you should look for a mascara that is more dramatic, but since I barely ever go out and need something more dramatic, I absolutely adore this mascara! I guess you could just layer on the blackest black shade to get a dramatic look, because I found that no matter how many layers of Lash Exact you put on, it still never clumps.
The end result was very pleasing! And I didn't even need to spend 5 minutes applying it. The results of my lashes were, nice, defined, lengthened, separated lashes, and yet, still managed to look natural without the clumps and globs. I have short, thin lashes and with this brush, I can get into the inside corners of my lashes without creating a mess or hitting my eye. You can also put it onto your bottom lashes without it smudging, and when you do put it there as well, the result: wide, bright and awake eyes that is so simple to use! I found that I only needed one coat of this fabulous mascara to get the nice result.
I also noticed, that when this mascara dried up, it still left my lashes soft! A big bonus! I hate mascaras that dry up to leave lashes hard and brittle.
At the end of the day, when it came to removing Lash Exact, it washed off so easy with my normal cleanser and didn't leave a smear on the towel when drying (which I find happens quite a bit with other mascaras).
The only 'bad' thing I found with Lash Exact, is that it flakes ever so slightly after a couple of hours after application. Not a lot (to change the overall score of this mascara), but can be easily removed with a careful swipe of a tissue, Q-Tip or even your finger. But I never found it to smudge, even after rubbing my eyes (I tend to do that when wearing mascara)!
Unfortunately, Cover Girl tests on animals...I don't see why it's necessary, but they do, and if anyone knows if they have stopped, please leave me a comment. :)
But overall, I really enjoy using this mascara, as the results are defined, lengthened, separated, just nice and natural lashes that are perfect for the day. I only noticed a very small amount of flaking, but not smudging. I still highly recommend this mascara and, fortunately, is very cheap!
Thanks for reading! :P
Have a nice day.
