Pros: nice color and feel on lips- moisturizing and slick.
Cons: not long-lasting, smell, no sun protection
The Bottom Line: Go out and try it. There are many shades for everyone. Although it won't be hailed all over the world as a long-lasting or amazing lip product, it is sufficient.

| chocolatekiss's Full Review: Cover Girl Lipslicks Lipgloss |
This review is part of the All Around Average series. The products I review under this title satisfy me, but just don't live up to all my Great Expectations. COUGH*reference to classic book*COUGH. Now I sound intelligent!! Oops, did I say that out loud??? Sorry... getting off the pathetic power trip…
Some people say they only write reviews on things they feel passionately on, either positively or negatively. But I disagree. I think it’s informative to the consumer (that would be you guys!) even if you’re stuck in between recommending and not recommending. That being said…
I’ll be the first to admit, I was attracted to this product by the name. Covergirl Lipslicks Lipgloss sounded like a nice lipstick, but not too hardcore. Since I am only in high school, going to school with heavily pigmented and dark lipcolor is passed up for long-lasting lip glosses and sheer colors. Unless you are a goth of course :-D. Anyways… Covergirl Lipslicks Lipgloss seemed like a worthy purchase. Luckily, I wasn’t that disappointed.
I took a little skip down to the beauty aisle of my local supermarket. Covergirl Lipslicks Lipgloss was with the wide selection of other Covergirl products. Its price was in the usual 3-6 dollar range of lip products by Maybelline, Jane, Bonne Belle, Caboodles, Neutrogena, etc.

This product comes in a twist-up pinkish tube. It is covered by a clear plastic top that just slips over the tube. On the tube it says in white lettering, (surprise) “Covergirl Lipslicks Lipgloss.” Since there is no actual ounce measurement (maybe it rubbed off), I will estimate. It is wider in diameter than Clinique Almost Lipstick but is shorter in length… though not as short as a classic tube of Chapstick or Blistex. Product claims are (taken from Covergirl.com):
“Give your lips sheer color and a shot of shine. Or pump up the shine of your favorite lip color. The emollient-rich formula helps keep lips soft, moist and feeling their best as it helps protect them. So say goodbye to dull lips, hello to beautiful shine.” from drugstore.com:
“Pro Tip: Use Lipslicks alone for a natural look, or over lipstick for a shine boost.”
COLORS AVAILABLE~~
They used to have color names like Hint of Shimmering Sandstone (my color) but recently have changed them to more "cute" names to keep up the times, I guess. In my opinion, I liked the former names. Now my shade, I think, is "cutie." Others:

Covergirl Lipslicks Lipgloss is more like a hybrid lipstick/lipgloss than just lipgloss. From just glancing at it, you would think it's a lipstick because of it's solid stick form. Most lipglosses come in a gel or liquid. This could also have been marketed mainly as a moisturizing lipstick, like the Clinique or other Covergirl versions. It did moisturize very well for the time it remained on my lips... which wasn't very long. Unfortunately though it aesthetically looks like a lipstick, it maintains some exasperating qualities of lip glosses. Covergirl Lipslicks Lipgloss glides on nicely and gives great color, more than I would've expected. My color is multi-faceted and a shimmery, slightly golden neutral. I think it would look good on any skin tone. Unfortunately, the full color only lasts an hour or two. A hint of shimmer and moisture remains for much longer. Another bad aspect of this product is the smell. It's the smell that's haunted us for generations, and just now has started to subside attacking us when we least expect it. Okay, it's starting to sound like a bad horror movie. But you all know that "grandmother's lipstick smell." UghHhH! It's so... ickie. Luckily brands are starting to catch the drift that we like nice fruity smells or at least no smell at all! Covergirl Lipslicks Lipgloss has the slight scent of this. Fortunately it's not overwhelming or I would not use this product. Also, there is no guaranteed protection from the elements by wearing this lipgloss. In the ingredients it says it "may contain" titanium dioxide. I don't know about you, but if the product doesn't have an SPF on it's packaging or container, nor does it say anything about sun protection on the website....I'd wear a lipbalm with SPF over or under the lipgloss.

Yes, I do recommend this Covergirl product. It is versatile as a lipstick for color and lipgloss for slickness and shine. It will not stay for a long duration nor does it have a pleasant aroma. But I very much like the look achieved when wearing it and reasonable price.
