| anae428's Full Review: Cover Girl Outlast Lipcolor |
Before writing this, I've read a lot of negative reviews about COVERGIRL OUTLAST. I've heard women say it clumps, it's sticky, it's too dry, it doesn't last long, etc. The problem they're having is due to the simple fact that they're not paying close attention to the directions. This is a product that will do what it's supposed to as long as you follow the simple directions and don't start making up your own technique. Follow the directions and your new OUTLAST lip color will last through just about anything. I can eat food, drink, kiss someone, and my lip color doesn't transfer.
The Packaging/What You Get:
1 clear tube (.07 oz) of color capped with a blue cap & 1 blue tube (.06oz) of clear lip shine (topcoat). That packaging is also blue and very easy to distinguish in the listick section of the COVERGIRL product lineup at stores.
Colors:
26 shades ranging from cool, neutral, and warm. Please be aware that colors are a lot lighter on your lips than they appear in the tubes. For instance, I bought #587 (a pink tome), and it turned out so light it made my lips look washed out. I finally found my match...any shade of "nude." It looks very natural.
Application & Removal:
Apply a generous amount of color (but not too much) onto CLEAND & DRY lips, making sure to avoid any unecessary recoating on an area that's already been touched. This may cause lips to look dry or clumped. Wait a few minutes and apply shine/clear topcoat. Color will last, but to maintain shine, reapply topcoat throughout the day if you'd like. Will certainly last 8 hours. If you must reapply and still notice some is leftover, I usually take a tissue and wipe by lips dry of any moisture then gently reapply, using less than the first time. To remove, either simply wait until it fades or use your preferred makeup remover of choice. To cut costs, I like to just use petroleum jelly with a bit of tissue and sweep it across my lips a few times.
Pros:
WILL last 8 hours, won't transfer. No bad smell. Will last even after swimming. I just went to the dentist yesterday and my lips still had the lip color on even after my appointment.
Cons:
Will not work if you don't follow the directions and you take matters into your own hands and cake your lips with it. Will clump, dry up, and make you look like you have old crackly lips. But the good news is, practice makes perfect!
My Final Thoughts:
There's no such thing as a miracle product, but this comes close. A product is only as good as you allow it to be. If you don't follow the instructions, you WILL be disappointed. However, if you follow the easy steps, I guarantee you'll LOVE that you can have a pretty lip tone and not have to worry about constantly reapplying or wiping it off your man's face!
